How to request a site restore
If your site breaks after an update, plugin installation, malware issue, or accidental deletion, you can request a restore from any of your daily backups. Yogi's VPS stores backups safely off server so restoring your site is quick and reliable.
This guide shows you exactly how to request a restore and what to expect during the process.
When you should request a site restore
A restore is the fastest fix when your site experiences a sudden, unexpected break. You should request one immediately if:
- The site goes down after a plugin, theme, or core update.
- Your WordPress admin dashboard becomes inaccessible.
- Something on your site disappears or displays incorrectly without explanation.
- You suspect a malware infection or unauthorized change.
- You accidentally delete pages, media, or settings.
What information we need from you
The more details you provide, the faster we can restore your site with the correct backup point. At minimum we need your domain, the approximate time the issue occurred, and what changed right before the problem.
Send this information in your request
- Your domain name.
- What happened right before the issue began.
- The approximate time the problem started (for selecting the right restore point).
- Whether you need a full site restore or specific files/database restored.
- Any screenshots of errors or issues (optional but very helpful).
How to request a restore
You can request a restore through your hosting portal or by sending a direct support message. Both methods alert our support team immediately.
Method 1: Submit a support ticket
- Log in to your Yogi's VPS hosting dashboard.
- Click Support → Open Ticket.
- Select the category "Site Restore Request" or "Emergency Support".
- Fill in the requested details including when the issue occurred.
- Submit your ticket and wait for confirmation from support.
Method 2: Email support
- Send an email to support@yogisvps.com.
- Use the subject line "Site Restore Request - YourDomain.com".
- Include all the checklist info (domain, what broke, when, etc.).
- We'll respond and begin the restore as soon as we receive it.
How long does a restore take?
Most restores complete in under 30 minutes. More complex requests (for example restoring only certain files or rolling back a malware infection) may take longer.
Typical restore times
- Full site restore: 10 to 30 minutes.
- Database restore only: 5 to 15 minutes.
- Files restore only: 10 to 20 minutes.
- Malware cleanup + restore: varies depending on infection.
After your site is restored
Once the restore is complete, we confirm everything is running smoothly. If the same issue reappears, it usually means a plugin or theme update triggered the problem and may need review.
Checklist: After restore
- Clear your browser cache and check that your site loads normally.
- Log in to WordPress and test key pages or functions.
- Avoid running plugin/theme updates until support confirms it's safe.
- Send us screenshots if anything still looks incorrect.
